Spring is here is Central PA!  Although we will continue to have some cold days and nights, the Spring flowers are peeking out and birds are twittering!  Time for all of us to be active and volunteer to help as we can! Our club has numerous events and projects going on this Spring.  Welcome to Soroptimist International of Centre County. Our mission is to improve the lives of women and girls, in our local community and throughout the world.

Jeopardy Competition!!

Come join the fun!  The 2018 Venture vs. Soroptimist Jeopardy challenge is on!  It will take place Wednesday March 21st.  Potluck dinner at 6pm and Jeopardy just after!  Each club puts up $250 for a favorite charity and the winner gets to send the $500 to the charity of their choice!  Lots of fun - team effort - AND we've won the last couple of years so let's extend the streak! SICC Dinner Meeting - April 2, 2018

Our regular meeting will be held at The Atherton, Monday, April 2, 2018. Our program will include a speaker from the Women's Resource Child Safety Center, who will be our Lasagna dinner proceeds recipient. Come find out more about them! Fun time: Dream It, Be It Collage Activity at Stormbreak

Several members of SICC joined with a few of the young women living at Stormbreak to make 'dream/goal collages".  Fun time had by all!  Was great to get to know each of the girls a little bit and watch how creative they could be with their pictures and quotes on the collages.

SICC Volunteers help with special day for young girls

SICC again co-sponsored the Jana Marie Foundation's  Wellness Forum provided for middle-school age girls at the Park Forest Middle School on October 14th.  The even was open to girls acorss Centre County and was attended by 38.  What a fun day of activities - all with the theme of Finding Your Inner Super Power!

SICC 2017-2018 New Officers Installed

At the June meeting, Past Govener Deb Cook led the group in an installation ceremony.  Officers for 2017-2018: President: Fiona Adams, Vice President: Dee Bagshaw, Treasurer: Sue Floyd, Secretary: Anita Ditz, One Year Delegates: Mary Valentine, Michelle Hamilton, Two Year Delegates: Joan Welker, Marian Fritzche.  Looking forward to a fun and productive year ahead!

Sip & Paint NIght - Fundraiser Success!!

Fun night was had by all at the Cheers for Art sip & paint night held at the Arena Bar&Grill at Northland Bowling Alley.  Over 80 attendees and we all had a fun evening painting and sipping!  We raised over $600 for our scholarship fund.  Look for this again next year!

2017 SICC Unsung Hero is Marian Fritsche - recognized for all her hard work at the snack stands, big fundraisers for SICC - always ready to fill in and help!
