New Slate of Officers Installed

New officers were installed - Debbie Reichenback, District 4 Director, handled the installation.  Congratulations to all!  New officers for 2021-2022:

NAR Soroptimist Spirit Award

Congratualations to our club!  One of our members, Dee Bagshaw, along with the club efforts on many fronts to further the mission of helping women and children at risk, was named the Soroptimist North Atlantic Region's (NAR) Spirit Award winner.

Soroptimist Spirit Award for 2021

Our club has selected Gay Rodgers, Owner and Director of the Hameau Farm Camp for Girls at Plum Bottom Farms for our 2021 SPIRIT AWARD: For Women Helping Women. This award acknowledges a woman who through personal or professional activities, is working to improve the lives of women and girls, locally, nationally or internationally. For over 25 years, Gay has worked with young gilrs to empower them to succeed.  (click title for more details)

Live Your Dream Scholarships

We have selected several deserving women, heads of household, who are working to improve the lives of their families by obtaining additional education or training for this year's awards.  These awards were competitive and the winners will be honored at our May Awards Night.  Congratulations!

The 2021 recipients are:

Vanessa Johnson, mother of 3, pursuing a degree in nursing so she can continue to help others;

Alexis Quick, mother of one, pursuing a degree in biology so she can go to veterinary school;

Alina Kukotina, mother of one and recent US citizen, pursuing a degree in engineering technology;

Melinda Kuhlman, mother of one, pursuing her associate degree for LPN license;

All of these women are working hard to improve the lives of their young families. Ms. Johnson said: "Words cannot begin to describe how much I appreciate the Live Your Dream award! This will allow me to continue my dream of becoming a registered nurse and to provide quality care.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much!"

SICC Awards NIght

SICC will hold their annual awards night in May 2021 by zoom - it makes all the fundrasing activity so worth it!!!  Awardees included our Spirit Award (to Gay Rodgers, Owner and Director of Hameau Farm Camp for girls), and three educational support awards to Live Your Dream recipients- congrats to all!
