2024 Celebration of Service Award

2024 Winner - Announced at May Awards Meeting

Soroptimist Celebration of Service Award For Women Helping Women honors women who, through
their professional or personal efforts, are making an extraordinary difference
in the lives of women or girls. Honorees are women who have worked to improve
the lives of other women or girls. Their work has had significant impact, and
also inspires and encourages other women.

Our 2024 winner – Christine Bishop, the CEO or the Centre County Youth Service Bureau, which provides early intervention services to youth in need of adult attention and support through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

2024

SICC 'LIVE YOUR DREAM'

Each year, our club provides educational support awards to 2-4 women who are primary financial supporters for their family and are working to get additional training or education to increase their financial stability. Applications are open in mid-November and due at end of the year. A review committee works to determine the winners and awards are given in March. The winner also can compete at the district and national levels. Contact us for more information.

May 2024

SICC will participate in #Centre Gives

During May each year, '#Centre Gives', run by the Centre Co Community Foundation, will bring non-profit organizations and donors together over a special day to raise funds. Donations to the
soroptimist of Centre County will help us to provide support for the work we do in the community. This special fundraising event RUNS for 36 hours to make a difference!

6th Annual Soroptimist Golf Classic

One of the club’s major fundraising events, golfers will enjoy a day of fun at the Penn State Blue Course – scheduled for Sept. 9, 2024. Golf teams and sponsors welcome!
